Terms of use — the short, honest version

What SpecBuildr is

SpecBuildr interviews you and generates a draft product specification — a starting document for a conversation with a manufacturer, installer, or engineer. Using the site means you accept these terms.

⚠ The engineering disclaimer — read this one

SpecBuildr output is informational only. It is not professional engineering advice, not a substitute for a licensed engineer, and not a construction, electrical, or manufacturing instruction. Our physics and DFM checks catch common conflicts; they do not prove a design is safe, legal, or fit for purpose. References to standards (NEC, IPC, ISO, UL and similar) are informational pointers, not compliance determinations.

Before you build, buy, or wire anything: verify every value with your supplier, installer, or a licensed professional engineer, and with your local codes and permit authority.

No warranty

The service and its output are provided "as is", without warranty of any kind — no guarantee of accuracy, completeness, availability, or fitness for a particular purpose. Specs are generated in part by AI and can be wrong, incomplete, or outdated.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, SpecBuildr and its operator are not liable for any damages arising from use of the service or reliance on its output — including property damage, injury, lost profits, or failed builds. Your sole remedy is to stop using the service and request deletion of your data.

Acceptable use

Your content

Your answers and your specs are yours. You give us the limited license to store and process them to run the service, as described in the privacy note — including, when you choose to, sharing a spec with manufacturers to get you quotes. Deletion works by serial number: hello@specbuildr.com.

Changes

We may update these terms; the effective date above changes when we do. Material changes will be visible on this page. Questions: hello@specbuildr.com.
